Artist Statement
The artwork developed in Sarah Godfrey's MFA Thesis explores the colors, textures, and emotions related to food and delicate antiques she has interacted with over the course of her life. She has utilized painting, photography, installation, and mixed media to develop strong compositions that invite the viewer in to reflect on the imagery and their reaction. Godfrey's creative process has evolved as a result of observing gravity's effect on foods when they interact with fragile mementos.
